What is Lip Filler?

Can the Treatment be Reversed?

When Will I See A Result? 

The great news is you will see an immediate result when you get Dermal Fillers but naturally you will have a small amount of swelling present immediately after the procedure. This will settle over three to seven days to leave you with a subtle and natural result. 

What Should I Do Before My Treatment? 

You can prepare for a lip enhancement treatment by arriving at your appointment hydrated. Blood thinning medication should be stopped one week before the appointment as this will minimise any potential bruising. Alcohol should also be avoided for up to 24 hours before your treatment. Because lip enhancement treatments can trigger a cold sore outbreak for those who are prone to them, it is advisable to take an antiviral treatment up to two days before the appointment and continue this for two days post-treatment. 

How Much Lip Filler Do I Need?

One treatment is all you need to achieve a fuller and more aesthetically pleasing smile, but how many ml should you get for your first treatment? The amount you get will of course depend on your personal preferences and your desired result. Your practitioner can offer you expert advice on the exact amount to get. You can see a noticeable difference with as little as 0.5ml. 

Is Lip Enhancement Painful? 

A numbing cream is used prior to the lip enhancement treatment so when the Dermal Filler is injected you will feel only a small sting and a slight pressure at the injection site. 

What are the Side Effects?

Like any cosmetic treatment, there are a few potential side effects to look out for. While downtime is minimal, you may experience bruising and swelling immediately after the procedure. There is a risk of infection but this is minor and adhering to the aftercare advice of your practitioner will further minimise this risk. 

If you are prone to cold sores, lip enhancement could trigger a breakout. It is advisable to avoid makeup for up to six hours after your treatment but after this time you can use makeup to conceal any bruising.
